The salon of photography is organized in compliance with the rules of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and the Photographic Association of Slovenia (FZS), is open to participants from countries from all over the world. The salon includes three themes:
Theme A: Contrasts (Colour or monochrome)
Theme B: General Colour
Theme C: General Black and White
Each participant may submit a maximum of four monochrome or colour photographs on the theme A and a maximum of four colour photographs on the theme B and a maximum of four black and white images on the theme C. The images accepted at any of the previous Miniature salons will be eliminated from the competition.
The submitted photographs should be in JPG format in RGB colour space and should comply with one of the following formats: 10×10 or 8×12 or 9×12 cm with 300 DPI (meaning 1181×1181 or 945×1417 or 1063×1417 pixels), in a landscape or portrait orientation. The size of files should not exceed 4 MB. Photographs for the exhibition will be mounted into frames 25×25 cm.
Naming of the image files is not important. The titles of the photographs provided in the application form should not extend 20 characters.
The works should be submitted via online application HERE. After successful upload the applicant will receive e-mail with confirmation.
Application fee is 15 EUR. This covers participation and submission to all three themes. All participants receive a PDF catalogue. For additional 10 EUR, the participant will receive a 4* paper catalogue.
We accept payment by PayPal or bank payment. Payment details will appear in the web application after you successfully submit your data and photographs.
In case of non-payment of the application fee, the submitted materials will not be judged.
The catalogue, which has been graded with four FIAP stars, will include at least one photograph by each author whose photographs will have been exhibited.
The organizer reserves the right to use the submitted materials for non-commercial promotion purposes, i.e. the salon promotion in the catalogue and related media. In case the author has any objections to this, he/she should specify so on the application form.
Up to 25 awards per theme will be awarded to the top submissions. This includes the gold, silver or bronze FIAP, FZS and Janez Puhar medals, as well as six FIAP honourable mentions, up to 5 FZS honorary mentions and up to 5 Janez Puhar honorary mentions. Each participant can only receive one award for each theme. The best author of the salon will receive a special blue FIAP badge and a gold Janez Puhar medal. The jury’s decision is final and irrevocable.
The jury results will be published on Janez Puhar Photo Society official website HERE. Each participant will be notified of the final results via e-mail.
Each participating author should ensure that the submitted materials are entirely their own original work and will be held responsible for any disputes that may arise as to the originality of their photographs. The submitted works may not be a creation of an Artificial Intelligence. Each participant is required to agree to terms and conditions by indicating that they agree with the following statement: “I hereby expressly agree to FIAP document 018/2017 »Conditions and regulations for FIAP Patronage« and FIAP document 033/2021 »Sanctions for breaching FIAP regulations and the red list«. I am particularly aware of chapter II »Conditions and regulations for FIAP Patronage« document 018/2017, dealing under Section II.2 and II.3 with the FIAP participation rules, the sanctions for breaching FIAP regulations and the red list.”
By participating at the salon, each author agrees to the terms and conditions set by the organizer.
